I've just recently figured out how my scanner works. Okay... I'm abit on the slow side. I don't like reading manuals which probably doesn't help as well.
It was a pretty pricey scanner when I first got it, and I couldn't understand why it was giving me shitty coloured scans. It didn't matter which setting it was: auto, home mode, pro mode... it kept saturating the colours and increasing the contrast automatically. Even trying to adjust the settings manually didn't seem to do much. So after months of using this scanner, I've realised that the stupid scanner has been automatically colour correcting images during the initial scan. Woohooo! So hopefully better scans to work with from now on.

me: "Can I have a piccolo latte please?"
incompetent cashier: "Small or large?"
me: "They just come in one size."
incompetent cashier: "That'll be $3.10."
me: "It says on the board that they're 2.85."
incompetent cashier: "Ah... I don't know."
me: "ah, just give me a macchiato instead."

Ring in the new year.
I finished up work on friday. It's been pretty full on. A reminder that I had better refocus on my art. I'm starting up uni again this week. It'll be weird going back. I'm starting to wonder if there's still a teacher in me. When it's good, you get the biggest high... it's the best feeling. But when you have a class full of dickheads you wonder why you're even here and not back in the studio.
So with these thoughts to chew over. I woke up early.... went for my jog/walk... well, it was more walk than run. I had bloc party loud. A nice grey and gloomy kind of day. A good day to study colours on the street.
I've been doing some colour doodles in an old journal a friend got me from florence. Starting backwards.
Got home baked a banana-walnut-rasberry bread-cake thing. House was smelling good. The day was turning out to be a productive one. Tonight: life drawing.
I went downstairs to drop off some dry-cleaning. Post some long-overdue letters and bought a loaf a bread.
Loaf of bread in hand, outside my appartment door, I realised I forgot my keys.
And of course it started to rain.
