Spring Sun
Still can't seem to shake this cold. So still sniffling and sneezing as I write.
I was quickly scanning Drawn and found this site with The Best Advice I ever Got. Clicking on random images, I found I really liked "Go when you can, not when you must." It works on so many levels. :)
Feeling a bit scared for some reason. Don't know what the future has in store for me. Wondering if I'll be strong enough for what it'll throw my way. Its been hard these last two weeks. But aside from wondering what fate is going to surprise me with next, I've been working on this toy over the last two days. Its been fun, and it's given me a chance to play with a tablet for the first time.

A - Z
Seemed to have caught the sniffles after Good Vibes, everybody kicking up dust. Was standing in the middle of the crowd in the Roots tent when I started breaking a cold sweat. Haven't been feeling so good. But catching Z-trip and Supernatural made it all worthwhile.
I was too lazy to go digging in the garage, so printed off some sheet music. Love the internet. Haven't played the piano in years, its been sitting in the hallway abandoned. So this morning inspired by this mini piano on this site http://www.aooa.co.uk/THE%20PHONE.swf I ended up dusting off the old Strand and started tinkering. Feels good to stretch the fingers. Piano projects over the next few weeks: beethoven's moonlight sonata, pathetique and yeah... pacabel's canon.
Also started doing some sketches for a toy company in HK. Its been fun doodling. Will be interesting to see how the process will unfold.

Famous Blue Raincoat
I wonder if you keep busy enough, how fast you can make yourself forget. Haven't felt this way in a long time. Alot of memories are beginning to flood back. Feelings, warmth, sensations and smells. Staring out the window seems to bring them back stronger and clearer than ever before...
Post exhibition gives you too much to think and write about. Went to the library today and borrowed a few books and borrowed some old cds. Seemed to have lost my Leonard Cohen cd, so I have to be satisfied listening to a cover of Everybody Knows by Dan Henly. Some things are just too hard to give up.
Guess I'm feeling nostalgic tonight for things I never had.

Open
Went down to the exhibition opening yesterday. It turned out to be a pleasant day. Started with a road trip early in the morning (early for me). I haven't slept well over the last few days, a few things have been troubling me... so the endless road provided some solace. The dark clouds on the horizon were pressing, and I began to doze off.
After lunch, we headed off to the national gallery. Ended up making an expensive purchase. I bought a book by an artist whose work I remember seeing in the Musee D'orsay that I really loved. Descended to the asian art section, and fell asleep again on the couches.
I was gradually being pulled awake, come opening time, things were falling into place. I managed to sell a few pieces on open which is always exciting. It was good to be in the background and people watch. Strangers taking out mobile phones and taking photos with my work, which was pretty cool. Was having interesting conversations with new artists and my friends from art school. Our stories and troubles had a similar thread which gave me a sense of comaradery.
On the way home it stormed, and I fell asleep again, jacket around my shoulders. I woke up briefly, and my friend grinned and said are "Are you going to take another nap? You must be half cat, half human." I couldn't help but smile and closed my eyes.

Fishtank
Currently listening to: Portishead
Spent the day snorkelling at my faveorite place. Finding the best time to go is difficult. We've been having a bit of rain over summer, making the water the next day cloudy. I was keeping watch over the skies yesterday to see if I could go. Today, the water was crystal clear. So many fishes. Floating in the sea, the sky warm and blue... I was thinking this is still one of the best places in the world.
